Entrepreneurship Panel Disscussion

The entrepreneurship event that I attended was a panel of four people at different stages in their careers. The first one was Zhensen Huang who started a very successful and established company, Precise Software Solutions. Yasmin Karimian was still within the first year of her craft beer business. Lastly there was the duo of Brenden Thach and Erin Patterson, together they started SenkoSkipper. All are UMBC alumni with very different ways of doing business.

Huang had a very traditional venture into entrepreneurship, he quit his career, took a big risk, focused on it full time, and built his own company from the ground up. He would say to himself constantly “Why not?”, whenever something seem far out of reach he would himself and his team that phrase. A successful entrepreneur is someone who is always pushing themselves to the next impossible goal. However on the other side we have Karimian whose craft beer is a side gig instead of being her full time job. She also spoke of how her business has been helping the community. Making real and genuine connections with the people surrounding was just as important to her as financial success. Finally we have SenkoSkipper founded by Thach and Patterson. A completely online based company that focuses on quick interactions with consumers to meet their needs as soon as possible. Between all three of them, one thing is clear, You must be willing to put in your heart and soul if you want your endeavors to become something more. A constant need to push yourself to work and do better no matter what happens. But along the way not forgetting the ones who kept you up when times were down. An entrepreneur is a master of self motivation, self esteem, and being selfless.
