Art For The Soul

Indulging in crafts can be so therapeutic and its not even something you have to be amazing at to enjoy just how relaxing it can be!

Art and crafts used to take up a huge part of my week, was something I really enjoyed and found incredibly relaxing (especially beading, if you haven’t tried it you must, you can get lost for hours)! However life has seemed to of gotten in the way over the past few years, with the kids and life seeming not to want to stop for anything.

Understanding the benefits of taking on an arty crafty project I’ve decided to create this blog because I’m on a mission to make more time for mindful art activities for myself and my family.

My goal is to take part in a weekly art or craft activity whether it be a visit to a gallery, craft with the kids, a workshop or some quiet knitting or drawing, to say no to the hoover and yes to the crochet hook!

Life can become so busy and taking time to participate in calming mindful activities can be hugely beneficial, not just relaxing but a real ‘feel good’ pill from surrounding oneself with delightful visuals at a local gallery or vintage fair.

I’m a mum of three 13, 11 & 9 who are all now off to school, having home educated them for some time. I’m new to the Frome area and looking forward to learning more about what this town has to offer in the creative space. I will definitely being getting kids involved because doing crafts with them is just as much fun as doing them on my own.
